Our profile
The mandate since 2012
Our goal is to transform the state so that it attracts investors and advertisers, promotes economic activity, and creates a win-win situation for regulators and operators in Oyo State. Since its establishment by the enabling law in 2012, OYSAA's mandate has included:
- Control outdoor structures used for signage and advertisement — issuing licences and permits, protecting the environment from visual blight, and controlling the number, size and location of structures.
- Ensure structures are sound and carefully designed, erected, modified, maintained or removed when no longer in use, to avoid damage to lives and property.
- Ensure structures are compatible with surrounding land use and environment, beautify their vicinity, and light major roads with street-light poles across the state.
- Control the pasting and display of posters and banners on public structures and highways.
